A white BYD sedan with license plate Gan K2U905 has been listed on Alibaba's judicial auction platform with a starting bid of 1 yuan and a bid increment of 1,560 yuan. The auction is scheduled for 10:00 on May 28. As of 9:40 on May 12, four people had registered, 953 had set reminders, and the listing had garnered over 30,000 views.

According to the auction announcement, the vehicle was seized by the Luohu District People's Court in Shenzhen and is currently stored in a vehicle impound lot in Longgang District. The car has multiple issues: its inspection status is overdue and it is under seizure; there is significant mold both inside and outside, with possible water damage; the car cannot start, and all four tires are flat.

The auctioneer explicitly states that the vehicle is sold 'as is' and bidders assume all risks, including potential hidden defects such as odometer tampering, water damage, fire damage, accident damage, or alterations to the VIN and engine number. Buyers must accept the current condition without recourse.
Delivery and transfer procedures are also restricted. Since the vehicle is held by public security authorities, it will take about 30 days after the auction to complete the transfer approval process. The winning bidder must appear in person at the Luohu District People's Court with their original ID and relevant documents; no third-party representation is allowed. Out-of-town bidders are advised to bid cautiously.

All costs associated with the vehicle, including storage fees, towing fees, parking fees, taxes, and any penalties, are the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer must verify any outstanding traffic violations with the vehicle management office. The auctioneer assumes no responsibility for the buyer's eligibility to transfer ownership, and bidders should check with local authorities beforehand. For vehicles subject to Shenzhen's small car quota management system, buyers must meet the relevant regulations and have already passed the quota application review.
The vehicle was first registered on January 19, 2020, manufactured on November 29, 2019, and its inspection was valid until January 31, 2022. The mandatory scrapping date is January 31, 2027.

Jimu News noted that this is not the first time the Gan K2U905 BYD has been auctioned. It previously failed to sell in three auctions on September 12, 2023, September 26, 2023, and May 15, 2024, with starting prices of 78,000 yuan and 62,400 yuan respectively.
On May 12, Jimu News learned from the auctioneer that the vehicle owner is involved in an economic crime. According to an enforcement order from the Luohu District People's Court, because the defendant failed to fulfill the property penalty obligations determined by an effective legal document, the court lawfully seized the white BYD and other assets. Proceeds from the auction will be used to compensate the victims.
